PEARL AFRICA RESEARCH MONITORING AND EVALUATION CONSULTING (PARMEC) is a registered close corporation committed to the agenda of social development transformation. We exist to provide high quality monitoring and evaluation services as well as training in monitoring and evaluation. We offer a unique and innovative monitoring and evaluation services developed in partnership with our clients in order to give them the insightful knowledge necessary to make key policy decisions. 

Paul Kariuki is a monitoring and evaluation practitioner based in Durban, South Africa. He has over 10 years’ experience in the areas of development economics, Local Economic Development, leadership, HIV/AIDS, monitoring & evaluation. He is a graduate of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, KwaZulu Natal and Zululand universities with qualifications in development economics, monitoring and evaluation.

He has been involved in development sector research, strategic planning, organizational leadership, facilitation, monitoring and evaluation for the past 14 years. He has written and published on the topic of local economic development, water and sanitation as well as monitoring and evaluation.

He has been involved in senior leadership positions for the past 10 years in the civil society sector. He holds a doctoral degree in Administration from the University of KwaZulu Natal, specializing in monitoring and evaluation in local government. He is passionate about development economics, good governance, migration, public participation, parliamentary engagement, public sector leadership, the role of think tanks, local economic development, civic leadership, democracy as well as monitoring and evaluation in public and private sectors. He is passionate about development, citizen participation, democracy, good governance, monitoring and evaluation.
